Dedicated to God

Sunday Jeff and I dedicated Emma's life to God. The pastor prayed for her life and for us as parents. He read some verses to encourage us as we raise her.

For Jeff as Emma's father: "The righteous man leads a blameless life. Blessed are his children after him." Proverbs 20:7

For me as Emma's mother: "She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her." Proverbs 31:26-28

For both of us as Emma's parents: "He who spares the rod, hates his daughter , but he who loves her is careful to discipline her." Proverbs 13:24. And finally, "Train a child in the way she should go, and when she is old she will not turn away from it." Proverbs 22:6

It was a special morning and Emma behaved very well as we stood in front of the congregation. Of course she didn't know what was going on, but we were thankful for the opportunity to show our intent to raise Emmaleigh in a Godly home and to receive encouragement and prayers from other believers. Jeff's parents and his Grandma Peters attended and prayed with us as well.
