Emma was on her best behavior as my hair stylist, Brianne, cut her ragged hair. Nothing can be done to hide the coulic and bangs that are completely gone, but her trendy new cut distracts enough that we will be OK until everything is even again. After Emma took the scissors to her own hair, I told the story many times to help explain why she has hair sticking up all over her head. I get the idea that it is quite a common thing for little children (especially girls) to do. Brianne reassured me that this was not the worst 3 year-old-do-it-yourself-hair-cut she had ever seen.

I hope my mom saw this blog. I got spanked at 4 years old for cutting my own hair when I thought I was doing her a favor.
