Black Lake

The girls and I went to Black Lake on Friday to visit my parents and to attend a "tea" organized by their church. My grandma went with us and we stayed on Friday for the tea and then left Saturday morning.
I brought Emma's new bike along and she had a blast riding on all the paved trails around the camp. The camp where my parents live/work is ideal. It is a lovely setting and I always enjoy walking around to see the new improvements.
My parent's co-workers and friends are constantly commenting on the uncanny resemblance between my mother and myself. We look and each other and don't really see what they are talking about, although people have said I am the "spitting image" of my mother my entire life. What is a spitting image anyway? It doesn't sound pleasant. I don't mind one bit being compared to such a beautiful woman, as long as there is no spitting involved.

The girls sat, ran, and crawled on the dock, soaking up the sunshine.

FLGA (future lifeguards of America): Mandy poses in the lifeguard chair overlooking the swim area on the lake.

What a cute baby reflected in the lenses of grandpa's glasses.

Emma assessed the pool problems with the head of maintenance. What, you don't want to go for a swim?

And a trip to grandma's is not complete without a little make-up time.
The light was so ideal down at the lake on Friday that I took quite a few pictures. I've posted more of the girls on my photography blog.

What a beautiful day at a beautiful place. Now, why wasn't the weather that good last summer in the middle of July?!! Thanks to you, your sister, darling children (& of course, your parents, Grandma Bonnie, Steve & LaNea!!) we still had a great time.
Love,
Aunt Dianne

Some time when you come up again, you should give us a call and drop by our house! Or we could meet you out there - I love that place and haven't been there in several years. Did I ever tell you that I went to AWANA camp there and my Christian high school had several retreats there? It's a neat camp. Glad you had a nice time and some good weather.
