I thought this was a good picture to symbolize our summer -- we are still in one piece. A little tattered and tired, but we are still going strong, We get asked quite often, "So, are you done yet?" Meaning, is Jeff's farming done for the summer. To answer: he is done combining, and now the work starts all over again. He has been disking, plowing, and harrowing. Now they're waiting for a little rain before they start planting again. It's never really "done," but yes, it is slowing down. Jeff is in at about 8pm these days and taking off a little early occationally is actually an option! That is wonderful!

This is a cool picture. I like your comparison! Glad you made it through another summer!

I too loved your analogy and can totally empathise. I feel like that zinnia and am so glad God created seasons! It's now Sept. 22nd. Fall starts tomorrow and we've had enough rain that we have not had to haul water for a week now! It's so nice to see the station wagon without the water tank hitched to it! Looking forward to the off season, but there are still iris to cut back and the last of the garden produce to put up. But first, New York City here we come!! Aunt Marci
