I snapped this picture of Mt. Shasta through the windshield as we sailed along at 70mph. 4 days later we began our journey home under overcast skies and were completely oblivious when a lady at a rest-stop asked, "Are you going to try to make it over the pass?" The Siskuis were hit with a snow storm early on Thursday morning and we drove right into it. Starting in Redding, the hale pelted us. Cars were in the ditches everywhere and we kept going. We were never stopped, but did get a little worried when we saw no S. bound traffic for about 30 miles. We finally saw the problem as the S. bound trucks were stuck attempting a hill. It was a mess and traffic was backed up for miles. We didn't even have to put on chains, but the snow slowed our progress to about 20mph. It was beautiful through the mountains with about 2 ft of snow and more falling in huge flakes. We were so thankful that we had no troubles and weren't in a long back-up somewhere waiting to be turned around.
