Well, this is the stage in my pregnancy where I start feeling the effects of extra pounds. I know all the reasons why a woman needs to gain weight, why it means the baby is growing happy and healthy, but truly, I don't enjoy the look of it on my body. Words like "thick," "round," and "soft" now describe my body and no, I don't need anyone commenting to the contrary -- I have a scale and a mirror that work.
I have been growing my hair out for my husband who has never known me with long hair. He likes the idea of long, flowing hair (very Created to Be His Help Meet). So, I let my hair grow and grow and the other day I decided I hated it. I told him, "I hate my hair." He said, "Ok, why don't you cut it. You were cute with short hair." Those were the words I needed to hear! Ah, to be cute again.
I got my hair cut yesterday and my hairdresser said, "I am SO glad you decided to cut your hair. You just don't have a face for long hair." Hmm. I am not sure about a comment like that, but I will take it. I am enjoying the shorter hair and feel just the tiniest bit cuter.

Super cute! I like both ways--but I can imagine that the shorter hair makes you feel lighter-- and whatever helps-- do it!!!!

I really like your new cut, Alysun! And I know what you mean. I have been letting mine grow, but there are days I am so tempted to cut it. We'll see...

If you can't trust your hair dresser, who can you trust?

Your husband deserves praise for his response. Shorter is very cute. I don't know that I ever actually saw it down while it was long! A certain photo of me with long hair sent me running to the hairdresser's too. But then I have always been hair challenged

I'm so glad you did what you wanted to! There is so much to be said about feeling good about how you look...especially when there are few things you can actually control about your look now. :)

Like the hair. Could do without the book, though. Hubby and I joked that it made me feel like a piece of "Help-meat". I did like To Train Up a Child, though. It's by that family, too.

I think the new cut looks great. I love how Created to Be His Helpmeet makes it into so many different conversations. It's amazing. I've been really wanting to cut my hair. My friend got hers cut really short and it looks so cute. Doing so would be mean bangs again and I'm just not ready to do that. Besides, last time I tried to look like someone where hair was concerned I ended up with a crazy perm. Really...if I want to look like Minnie Driver (Return to Me) I need to have her face and be Irish. 0 for 2 on that one. :)
