Extreme Make-over Home Addition

I brushed shoulders with Ed from Extreme Make-over today. I went out to the home ABC is doing in Lewisburg, just 10 minutes down the road from me. How often do you have a major TV show in your neighborhood? Some friends invited me along and I was happy to observe the very well organized "event" that is Extreme Make-over. There was security everywhere, metal fencing, and plenty of TV cameras. Five RVs were parked in an empty lot near the house, although I heard the big-shots are staying at the Hilton in Eugene. Also, they shopped at Heritage Mall in Albany and cleaned them out. I guess they really do show up without warning -- this is from a friend of a friend whose mother-in-law works there.
The fans were out in force and Ed was signing autographs. My friend Richard and his daughter, Grace, even got a picture with him! What a time to leave my camera at home! I was right next to him and can tell you Ed looks just like he does on TV, except he is short.
It was really hot, so Emma and I didn't stay long, but as we were leaving, the rest of the crew showed up. Ty, Page, and that really fem guy came walking in front of the house. The screams from all the little high-school fans tipped me off. One girl shouted, "I love you, Ty. Please marry me!" The family is to arrive home this evening for the big unvieling. I imagine it would be packed with fans. The house is impressive as usual and I plan on driving by in a few weeks when the crowds die down. It will be fun to see the episode!
