We are mostly done with the dining room (all except pictures for the other walls). Jeff did the panelling under the windows. Tearing into the wall proved it was dry-rotted all the way to the siding. He put in new studs and insulation and I think our "cover-up" looks great. Every time I go into the room now, I love what I see. Jeff also hung a new light fixture. I sewed the curtains and painted the moldings white and walls "baked brei."
Since you know I love the cheap make-over, the total was $110, with the paint, curtains, light fixture, and wood for the panelling. (Labor not included)

Before: This is under the front window. It leaked badly before we replaced the window a few months ago. The damage was beyond repair, so an internal fix was necessary.

After: I came up with the plans and Jeff did all the labor. We did the same panel under the other dining room window as well. Who's to say the 1920's house wasn't always supposed to be like this?

Amazingly clever. Dad and I think you should have your own show on HG TV!

You are brilliant. Brilliant. I notice plates on the wall though. I though we were re-thinking that plan?
