My children are sick for the 475th time this winter. Emma puked into a bowl as we stepped into the house yesterday. Contained puke is so much better than Wednesday's experience. Mandy isn't as skilled yet, so her first episode was when I was trying to feed her dinner. She didn't want anything and soon puked all over the table. After that, all she wanted to do was snuggle, so the bowl was our constant friend.

Besides some minor messes, life continues on here in paradise. It is amazing what last week's puke/poop episode gave me in perspective. It could be SO much worse.

By the way, I don't actually make my 4 year old sleep in a too-small cradle. This was the bed made for herself. Who can argue with mid morning napping, no matter what the location?

I just pray we catch a break and have an entire week without sickness. Jeff was sick for nearly 4 days. I've been feeling pretty gross too, but it is hard to say what to blame it on. I had an appointment with my midwife yesterday and she did a few blood tests. She said my blood sugar level was in "fasting" mode even though I had just had a snack and breakfast 2 hours before. She said I need to be getting 75 grams of protein a day, at least. Heavens! That is a lot of protein. Even though I thought I was eating a lot, it is not nearly enough. Having my own puking episodes doesn't help either. Other than that, I got to hear the baby's heart beat again, 160 bpm. The sound brings me to tears every time.

In other news, Mandy wore her first pony-tail. I can not get over how cute she is. I suppose a mother needs this kind of cuteness tunnel vision or else she could not bring herself to repeatedly clean up puke. She is such a sweetie.

But she is sick too. The only redeeming factor is all the snuggling, never mind there is still a lot of house work to do.

I would really love for everyone to be well! We won't be leaving the house for a month, maybe more, as we wait for all the germs in the world to dissipate. Until then, I will be holed up in blogger world with you, my only non-contagious friends.

I feel for you, I really do. By some miracle Grace takes after her father and rarely gets sick. Ethan on the other hand seems to be just like me and catches every sniffle he comes across. Blech.

Here's to hoping you have a puke-free week ahead of you!

Emma always did like little spaces!
Mandy's ponytail is darling.
So sorry everyone is feeling lousy again:(, so maybe Emma had an excuse for her naughtiness yesterday? O well, we all have to learn to be nice even when we feel awful sooner or later (some of us take longer to learn )

Yes, that must be why God made them so cute, so we wouldn't mind cleaning up their pukey messes (at least no too much).

I'm hoping you don't have any more to clean up for awhile, though. :)

So sorry to hear that you've all been sick. I had that bad head-cold thing last week, but now feel better. Hopefully, we will NOT get the nasty stomach stuff. Hang in there!
