Baby Blue

Baby Blue used to have blue eyes. Really, truly. His eyes are green now, but we still think of him as our Baby Blue. He's the best cat we've ever had and now he is missing.
We went for a walk on Sunday and he followed us up the road, running through the fields and trees without a care in the world. He didn't follow us home and we haven't seen him since.

I'm not a cat lover myself. Don't hate me for it. But somehow I managed to birth children (I'm still not sure they are mine) who adore cats. My girls love Baby Blue to pieces, nearly literally. They carry him around like a baby and he appears to love it. They kiss him on the mouth and I can hardly stand it. But for Baby Blue, I do hold just a bit of affection. Not kiss-on-the-mouth affection, but honor-the-nice-kitty-with-a-blog-post affection.

We went for walks Monday and Tuesday trying to find Baby Blue. Emma has all kinds of theories about where he went. The best possible scenario is that he walked to the library to get some books. The worst, and perhaps the most likely, is that Baby Blue had a run in with our neighbor the cat nabber. The neighbor takes it upon herself to take cats in the area to the Humane Society. Never mind that we live in the country and the cats are doing no harm except living the good life catching mice. She drives up at down our road at 5 miles an hour searching for nice kitties to lure into her van. It is SO creepy. We are quite certain she stole 2 other kittens of ours last year. The Lord loves her, but we have a hard time sometimes!

In the meantime, Emma really misses Baby Blue. Mandy does too and calls "Kitty" every time we are outside. Sniff, sniff. Baby Blue, come home!

Wow - I don't know if I've ever seen a cat so willing to be squeezed by a kid! I hope you find her.

I nearly started laughing at the mental image of your cat nabber neighbor driving slowly up and down the road. It's funny in a creepy sort of way. I hope you find Baby Blue.

Is this the same cat you drove over a few days ago? Hope kitty comes home...

I sure hope you find Baby Blue! Don't forget to stop by the Human Society just in case your crazy neighbor (boy, that's wacky and weird) really did pick your cat up.

cant you go the humane society? or call??? a missing cat is so not nice, especially one that will tolerate the little girl squeezes!

Sorry, but I am really laughing at the song that goes along with this post. I'm not a cat person either, but I do hope Baby Blue comes home soon!!

So sorry to hear, cats can add a lot to a family especially one that is so tolerant. I hope he comes home - if not we may have a spare!!

Man you tricked me with the post title, I thought there was going to be an announcement about a baby brother! HA
So sorry to hear about your cat. I am not a cat lover either but can certainly understand the love they have to offer (when THEY want to).

If he can survive getting run over, he can certainly out wit the cat lady who is probably snagging up cats to add to her collection at home! (Thinking of the powdered milk commercial - Remember when they turned out the lights?)

After just reading your sister's blog about allowing her boys to finally have their first pet (a gold fish!), I am very glad that you have "sacrificed" your own comfort (since you too do not like pets) and allowed your girls to own, love and enjoy their kitties! =)

Glad to hear that you got Baby Blue back....and that your neighbor didn't get the satisfaction of getting her first. Bad cat nabber neighbor...lady...bad.

Your new photography website looks great by the way.
