Happy Father's Day

Daddy's Little Girl Poem, unknown author

A little girl needs Daddy
For many, many things:
Like holding her high off the ground
Where the sunlight sings!
Like being the deep music
That tells her all is right
When she awakens frantic with
The terrors of the night.

Like being the great mountain
That rises in her heart
And shows her how she might get home
When all else falls apart.

Like giving her the love
That is her sea and air,
So diving deep or soaring high
She'll always find him there.

I'm so thankful for my children's father, who is also the love of my life. I appreciate his willingness to learn about and understand his children. I appreciate the joy he takes in entertaining them. My children will never have to wonder if they are loved because they hear it every day, feeling it in bear hugs too.

PS This poem made me tear up also as I thought of my dad, an amazing father who I love with all my heart for the sacrifices and love he gave and continues to give. I always felt loved, accepted, beautiful, and special in the eyes of my daddy. I am so blessed.
