I've reached the 30 week mark! The baby is about 15 1/2 inches long and weighs about 3 lbs. She moves often and it feels like she is doing flips. I am frequently asked if we've chosen a name. We have pretty firmly decided on a name, but will keep it a secret for another 10 weeks or so. With my hormones, I may decide I hate it in another couple minutes. Life is undependable these days.
I am really excited about this baby and can't wait for that blissful feeling of finally holding her in my arms and seeing her face. When I think about the baby coming, I also get nervous. People tell me that the second one is SO MUCH EASIER, but I am reserving the right to fear the pain and agony of labor. I had a cramp in my leg this morning and remembered how strong pain can be... and that was just a leg cramp!
I fear I may lose my loyal blog following if I complain too much about pregnancy and delivery, so I will leave the moaning and groaning about weight, frequent peeing, itchy skin, continuing nausea, and back pain to the professionals.
I successfully made an appointment with one of the few midwives in Corvallis. There shouldn't be any trouble in the transfer and it will be a relief to have it all taken care of. I still have to obtain my medical records and a refund from SWC. I feel terrible about leaving SWC before they know for sure about the midwives being able to deliver in Salem. Apparently the judge is taking his own sweet time in deciding and the date for the decision is now the end of July. I decided it would be better to make the change now, rather than waiting and perhaps trying to find alternate care when I was 35 weeks along. And the plus is that Corvallis hospital is only 15 minutes away!

Very nice Pic!
So cute! Mama and I were talking over plans for the trip and there are a few changes (I guess we are coming to Dallas on Saturday to stay, so we are only at Blacklake Weds and Thurs night). Mal and I are hoping to hang out with you Sat night again. Will that work???
You look wonderful:-)
30 weeks and you look awesome! I love the haircut. Good to hear that the arrangements for a midwife are almost settled. Liam and I are sitting at the table after supper. Lindsay is out golfing and we're about to go on a bike ride. It's starting to cool off in our apartment and there's a great breeze coming in the window. I love summer but weeks like this can get a little crazy when one has a 18 month old and no air conditioning. His patience definitely is shorter.
Speaking of patience, this little wonder sitting across from me is starting to lose his. Time for mine to kick in again.
I was wondering if you had settled on what to do about SWC. So glad! Did you manage to see the clinic I suggested? If so what did you think?
You look truly beautiful Alysun. I'm so excited to meet your little miracle as well!
