We signed up for Net Flix and Jeff has it figured out so we can get the most out of our subscription -- 12 movies in 2 weeks. There is a lot of pressure to watch a movie almost every day and honestly, there are not 12 movies we both want to see. Here are some highlights from last week:

Spider Man 14, uh-hum, I mean 3. It was your classic good versus evil with a little mediocre acting in between. I thought the stunts were cheesy and the plot too predictable.

Die Hard. Please, die already. Jeff really liked this one and I have to admit some of the stunts were great. It had a lot of senseless violence topped off with Bruce shooting himself to get the guy standing behind him.

The Break-Up. This movie surprised me. I liked it. The script and acting were superb. It was an excellent lesson in how good communication is essential in a relationship. It showed how easy it is to fight off the real subject, ignoring the real issues. It even had a half-good ending.

The Lake House, I watched for the very first time last week. Jeff and my conversation went something like this:

Jeff: I don’t know why you got this one since we already saw it.

Me: I have never seen it.

Jeff: Yes you have. It is about the guy and the girl who live in the same lake house 2 years apart in a time warp and the guy is hit by the buss…. You remember?

Me: I would remember a movie like this with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reaves. The movie just came out last year and you think I watched it with you and already forgot?

Jeff: Well, I know I watched it with you.

Me: You may have watched it, but it wasn’t with me. Why have you been watching Romantic Comedies without me?

Couple on couch watch first 10 minutes of movie…

Jeff: You’ve seen this right?

Me: Still, NO! I have not seen this movie and again I ask, when did you watch this movie without me, why, and who were you with?

Jeff: I was with you!

Couple on couch watches another 10 minutes of the movie….

Me: This movie came out a year ago. Was it playing on the plane to Africa? That’s it! You watched it and I didn’t! I am not crazy.

Jeff responds after another 10 minutes of watching the movie: I told you that you were with me when I watched the movie.

Even though he got the last word, I was quite relieved to know I didn’t completely forget watching the movie. It was really good. I liked the story and it had such a nice ending. Poor Keanu still can’t act, but he’s easy on the eyes.

Bourne Ultimatum. We saw this film in the theatre in August with Dan and Hillary. Actually, everyone else watched the movie while I threw up in the bathroom. I was 8 months pregnant, still getting nauseated at the slightest things and I couldn’t handle the jerky filming. It was so nice to watch this movie now that I am not pregnant. It is a great movie. Again, it is very predictable, but great stunts and acting. A good action movie.

There aren’t a lot of good films out there these days, so watching 12 movies will keep us satisfied for awhile. What are some of your favorite movies? I’ll add them to our queue!

Thanks for visiting my blog, Alysun! Your kids are so precious!

... so... ummm.. how in the heck do you have time to watch a movie? You are my hero!!

By the way, I LOVE the Bourne movies... we still haven't seen the Ultimatum, but we will someday!

Another "by the way", my husband grew up in Dallas. His parents still live there. All of his siblings graduated from WOU... and my father-in-law works there! Small world!

That is hilarious! I couldn't stop laughing!
Add to your list The Prestige, it's a good one and not a chick flick.

Wow, I am quite suprised at your review of The Break Up. I saw it when it first came out with a guy I was dating and I left with a migraine. It was too realistic and NOT why I watch movies!
