Like it or not, there is no avoiding the fact that this is a "mommy blog." When I get comments from the non-mommies (thanks Tawny, Carrie, and Laura), I always wonder, "Wow, why did they stop by? My life must seem so boring." I blog about sickness, health, messes, frustrations, tears, tortures, joys, fears, and love -- all of course revolving around the 2 people who require all my time and attention. Mandy and Emma are everything to me in quite a literal sense. Emma wakes me in the morning, always sometime before 7am, asking, "Is it the right simeen (7)?" (She gets confused with 7 being in the right place on the digital clock in her room. We told her she can't get up until it is 7:00; not 5:37, 6:47 or any other 7). Mandy needs feeding, diapering, changing, and entertaining. Emma needs fed, entertained, directed, and taught.
So, what do I do when I get a few minutes to myself? I blog about how my day is filled and how my life as a mommy fulfills me. Another wise mommy blogger said her blog is cathartic. I agree completely. There is something about this mommy job that demands so much, yet allows little time for a personal performance. In a way, my blog is a stage. It is a place where I can present my ideas, show my work and give myself a little credit for the life I live. My audience is free to come and go, peeking into my world, as fast/slow/exciting/boring as it comes.
Thanks for stopping by and for saying hello in the midst of your busy day, I'll be by your place soon.

And remember, you're never too old to be a mommy blogger!....Of course, after many years of mommy blogging, you will have the ultimate joy of grandma blogging (for me...Nana blogging!) I wish that we had this when our kids were little, but at least we can have the pleasure now! If you haven't yet, check out my blog at
friesenfamilyfun.blogspot.
It would be really fun to be able to get the Friesens together this summer. Maybe this time you and the rest of your family can come!
That would be great!
And Again I say Thank- you! What a pleasure it is for us to feel like we are kissing, hugging, crying, watching them grow, seeing your perspective, remembering... all the things that grandma's and grandpa's that wish they could be closer would miss out on otherwise!
Some other mommy just told me that she finally taped over the other numbers with electrical tape!
Ok, I didn't know what cathartic meant so I had to look it up (call me a dumb blonde :) Emotional or psychological cleansing pretty much describes what blogging is for me, too. I'm glad I know that word now.
I LOVE your new layout (the header, esp.). How do you do that??
