3 Halves And A Whole

It's half-birthday time.

With three children born in the Fall, this is the time of year we move into the incredible

"half year older."

Emmaleigh is 7 and a half (almost).

Mandy is 4 and a half.

And Rem is 2 and a half.

Last year in April

So this is a good excuse for a good ol' fashioned update post.

A lot happens in a year.

Miss Emmaleigh.

A delightful girl, still full of spunk, but so thoughtful now. Love this girl and her ambition, she's learned so much in a year.

She's coming along very well in her school work, loves her schedule and is currently working for a rabbit.

She earned enough to buy her first bag of feed ($20) and now has "rabbit points" she earns for being kind and doing extra chores (without complaining). She also gets these points taken away for bad attitudes and complaining. Man oh man, does this system work. She REALLY wants that rabbit. I'm not sure what we'll find that is so motivating once the rabbit is earned. :)

Emma is also really looking forward to the baby and wants to watch videos on babies being born. Fascinating stuff for a seven year old girl. She asked me the other day if she could just say that a baby comes out of his mommy's butt because "vagina" is too hard to say.

Um, no. In this case, I really prefer the word vagina.

Mandy, oh Mandy.

Tenacious as ever, maybe more so. Her constant conversation amuses and keeps me on my toes.

The other day she came over with a bunch a props from combs to Barbies to pillowcases and told me I might want to watch this because she was going to on TV. She even gave me a remote so I could change channels. She went from infomercials about how/why I should buy the beautiful pillowcase, to a story about a princess (enter Barbie) who needed her hair combed. In the middle of it she said, "You might want to change the channel, this one is about to get really boring."

With this girl, boredom isn't a word that comes to mind.

Speaking of boredom or lack there of....

Let's see how weird we can be...

It's an gift.

R-man.

He's a little guy with many nicknames. Mandy actually convinced someone at the grocery store that his name was "Little Man." She repeated it slowly, with a southern drawl because the poor woman looked like she didn't believe. A southern drawl states it more plainly apparently.

"Yes, it is Little-Man-Peters. My mom named him that." Mandy said.

We call him R.J. most frequently. For real.

He's typically two. Entertaining in mass quantities. Fun-loving.

Potty-training himself with the attention span of a toddler.

Adventure seeking.

Still a sweetheart who can't resist a hug for mom every now and then.

37 weeks

The whole.

Sometime this spring we plan to have a birthday for our newest addition. Sooner rather than later would be nice.

Emma was born at 40w + 1d, Mandy at 40w + 6d, and Rem was 41w + 1d, so my midwife encourages me not to get my hopes up for an "early" delivery.

My official due date is April 27, making me 37 weeks pregnant, woohoo! I'm measuring right on track for another 41 week delivery.

Not woohoo!

Whining aside, he'll be here before I know it and the weeks fly by.

Part of what makes the time go is keeping busy. The 3 little people in my charge don't give me much peace, from school to stomach flu, rest is something forgeign these days.

I'm very thankful I haven't gotten sick. I pack in my pro-biotics, now including a few extra precautions my midwife recommends like kefir (fermented food is awesome at warding off bacterial infections), garlic (boosts the immune system), and grape-fruit seed extract (a natural anti-biotic).

This time next year, you'll have an-almost one year old:-) You've come a long way with the girls and that encourages me that Camille will mellow out someday, too.

I love me a "good ol' fashioned update post." :) Fun to catch up with your cuties and I know you'll be glad you took the time to do this kind of a post in light of the news I heard this afternoon... Congrats! :) And so glad you didn't have to wait until 41 weeks! Looking forward to seeing pics of my newest little cousin soon!

Alysun, as I'm reading this, I'm thinking..."so much for the 40-41 week routine!" So nice that you were early...what a great surprise for you, I'm sure! Can't wait to see more pictures. By the way, love the pic of you in your 37th week. You rocked it!
